City of Murfreesboro, Arkansas

The City of Murfreesboro has a population of 1631 as of 2013.  It is in southwest Arkansas and is about
7 miles from the Narrows Dam on Lake Greeson.  It is the county seat of Pike County.

The Murfreesboro Municipal Building is located at 204 E. Main right across the street from the Murfreesboro Post Office.

The Municipal Building

The City of Murfreesboro is governed by six (6) alderman members, with a Mayor. 
They meet on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:00 pm during daylight savings time and 6:00 pm during standard time.


The City Clerk & Recorders office hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.


The Water Dept. is open from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm the 10th through the end of the month and 8:00 am - 5:00pm the 1st - 10th of the month.  It also has the convenience of a drive up window and a night deposit.


The Community Room is available to rent for events and activities.  The cost is $40 with $100 returnable depost if room is clean. contact the Mayor's office to schedule.
