The Diamond City
The City of Murfreesboro has a population of 1,554 as of 2017. It is in southwest Arkansas, about seven miles from the Narrows Dam on Lake Greeson, and is the county seat of Pike County. The Murfreesboro Municipal Building is located at 204 E. Main right across the street from the Murfreesboro Post Office.

City Government
The City of Murfreesboro is governed by six (6) alderman members, with a Mayor. They meet on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7pm during daylight savings time and 6pm during standard time.
The City Clerk & Recorders office hours are 8am – 5pm.
The Water Dept. is open from 8am – 4pm the 10th through the end of the month and 8am – 5pm the 1st – 10th of the month. It also has the convenience of a drive up window and a night deposit.
The Community Room is available to rent for events and activities. The cost is $40 with $100 returnable deposit if the room is clean. Contact the Mayor’s office to schedule.
